Alan Thomspon’s DJ career ignited in 1992 when he played his first gig at the infamous Trade nightclub in London. Alan would go on to carve out a career for himself, becoming an International star in the House Music scene, holding residencies in London and Ibiza, in clubs such as Ministry Of Sound, Progress and Atelier.
His 27 year-strong career saw him perform for club-goers around the globe and he did it during a time when not many had walked the path before him. From leaning over the DJ booth watching Frankie Knuckles spin the decks to see how he did it, to the ‘summer of love’ in ’88 when house music and ecstasy first hit the UK scene, to wild parties in Spain and Paris – Alan takes us on one hell of a journey.
This story is one of excess and excitement, as much as it is discipline, hard work and doing what you love. I hope you enjoy the chat as much as I did.
