Sam grew up in the rough streets of Sydneys Inner City Redfern and Glebe, and like most in that situation, experienced his fair share of crime and trauma. Through his youth, Sam would come to know first hand the inequalities of the Australian legal justice system, and develop a drive to address glaring issues within that system.
Sam earned his masters in Criminology, and has worked extensively as a social worked and government consultant. He is now the CEO and founder of Impact Policy, a consulting firm he established with the goal drive fundamental change in government policy and organisational culture.
In todays chat we cover his personal journey, including systemic racism, trauma, cancer survival, social inequality and community development.
